Manningham Road, Bulleen

Manningham Road, Bulleen is a three storey with basement carpark apartment building consisting of 11 dwellings. Concentrating on providing for a high sense of amenity and liveable spaces to the apartment layout design, the proposal achieves a high standard of design and compliance with “The Better Apartment Design Guidelines”. Architecturally, the proposal is nestled within a small residential site on a main arterial of Melbourne’s North-East. The proposed forms are well articulated from adjoining sensitive interfaces, reducing any sense of visual bulk. The façade design is compositional, with vertical elements crossing through horizontal plane. The detail on the façade design is evidenced by the use of various brick colours and patterns in sequences. Vertical battened balustrade features to balconies enable permeability and offer contrasting elements which contribute to the three-dimensionality of the overall design.
