Sheldon Court, Lysterfield

Sheldon Court, Lysterfield is a family residence proposed on a large site in a rural setting. The site topography falls down a hillside which allows the two storey dwelling to appear poised above the valley below, enjoying open views over the valley to the city from all levels. The indoor poolroom adjacent to the living areas is separated by a glass wall allowing for these areas to achieve a greater sense of integration. The interiors are focus around clean contemporary lines and glazing is used to frame off inspiring panoramic views from the various zones. External courtyards and balconies at all levels allows the occupants heightened experience with the site and the natural beauty of its contextual surroundings. The use of dark muted tones, in render and timber finishes and floor to ceiling glazing throughout enables the proposal to site comfortably within its rural setting. The façade and form concept is derived by the idea of a "static framework" which encapsulates and expresses volumes externally and appears to be continuously flowing from one element to the next. In essence, this proposal offers the clients a resort type lifestyle and a real connection to nature and its surroundings.
