Victoria Street, Doncaster is a pair of contemporary double storey with basement, four bedroom, side by side dwellings. The design utilises feature skillion roof forms at the first floor level which carry down to the ground floor base structure. Simple box like structures are designed to cantilever over ground floor forms. A sense of contrast between rectilinear and angled geometry is further enhanced by their simple steel, timber, glass, and brick facades. Roofs are a combination of flat roofs hidden behind parapets and simple pitched roofs. The proposal works with the falling site topography allowing for the basements to the rear. Undercover Alfresco areas allow for year round use and provide for a transitional space to the external landscaped yard spaces at the rear of the dwelling.
