Lawrance Street, Murrumbeena

Lawrance Street, Murrumbeena is a period style weatherboard dwelling. Our clients brief was to capture the essence of the context and propose something which places emphasis on features, proportions, and forms resemblant of a period era whilst combining all the modern day functionality and design aesthetics required for a functioning family home.  The resultant design utilises pitch roofs and gable ends to articulate façade forms and feature glazing elements.  The north /south orientation of the site is considered within the design as large window elements on the front façade to the north serve as light sources through void and circulation spaces to habitable ground and first floor living zones.  The proposed design comes together in a composition of elements through the clever use of materials, ornaments, and repetition throughout the design.  Lawrance Street is yet another example of Archiphor’s abilities to work within various styles of architecture to achieve our client’s vision bringing together their brief and ambitions to design a place they can call home.
